I think their quality is still pretty damn good compared to other brands. And the pricing is pretty decent if you can find sales. This is also a relaxed jacket, it’s slightly worn in already. I have the same jacket and I haven’t experienced any holes/much wear. I have older carhartt jackets and I have holes and tears in them, I just think it depends on what happens while you’re working.

Vintage style has become so popular these days, it's possible they've decreased the quality to speed up the wear process and give people a faster way to get a vintage look

No. Not made as well. I have purchased at least 6 others in the past 40 years.

Yes, Carhartt quality has gone down on many items. If you know what to look for, you can avoid it. First, no stretch! The item must be 100% cotton. Second, washed duck is not washed in a washing machine as normal. It's beaten to heel in an industrial washer to soften it. Thus reducing life, it feels better, though. Last, stick to firm duck if you want it to last. All old Carhartt came as firm duck. Firm duck doesn't get snagged or tear as easily. Sharp objects tend to just scrape across the surface but leave no damage. Then they did the sandstone starting in the 90s, I believe. This felt better, but it has a reduced lifespan.

Zippers are thinner and weaker also

@luckyluciano-t1r

can wee see on you how it fits? I'm also wearing M but people are telling on the comments that it's too loose, so i'm not sure if i should go for S or M

What is considered vintage?

I have a jacket my father bought me Christmas 97. Still in great shape.
