Just in case those unfamiliar with Led Zeppelin are unaware, their Drummer sadly passed away some time ago, his son is playing the drums here. His signature hat was a bowler hat, thus the bowler hats in the choir. Very very classy tribute.
Imagine the pressure of playing Led Zeppelin in front of Led Zeppelin, and then being such consummate professionals you pull THIS off. Heart are truly greats in their field.
Ann Wilson later said that Robert Plant admitted to her that this performance of his song was the only time he actually enjoyed watching someone else perform his music. You can see it in his face during the performance, he's actually impressed.
When a song can make it's own creators cry, you know it's special.
In my opinion, this is without a shadow of a doubt the greatest tribute I've ever seen to a band, very moving.
This is unquestionably one the great performances of modern times - the way Nancy strums, Ann sings, Jason drums, the orchestra builds, the choir explodes, John Paul Jones nods, Jimmy Page smiles, and Robert Plant cries...........next level performance
I've watched this at least 100 times and it never gets old. Just watching the reaction of Zeppelin is priceless.
Robert Plant said in an interview it took her singing this for him to fully understand the depth of this song
When the members of Led Zeppelin give you a standing ovation for covering their own song, you know you did well. 👍
John and Jimmy are enjoying themselves. But Robert, you can see how this truly touched his soul. Those eyes say it all.
Moving the members of Led Zeppelin to tears by playing their song is peak achievement. Everyone can go home now.
Watching Robert Plant trying to hold back his tears is whole another level of feels man. Dare I say that this might be one of the best live performances of all time.
While Heart is getting their much deserved recognition for their performance, the musical director who put this masterpiece together should get some too. Every detail was impeccable, every performance was flawless, and this was a result of their work.
This is not music anymore. This is spiritual. Under your skin, inside your bone. Deep inside your soul.
March 4, 2025 I’m jamming to this like it just came out. It’s just beautiful.
When that choir comes in hard, if you're not feeling this song deep in your bones, you're not human. Just incredible
this is not an exaggeration this is one of THE BEST performances of all time
A hundred backup singers, an entire orchestra , and Ann Wilson powers louder and clearer than all of it and sounds flawlessly natural Amazing singer. A true enigma.
every year I find myself returning to this video, god bless whoever reads this
