It is truly moving to hear Fr John Main's voice teaching the great gift of Christian meditation, this guide reminds me of when I started on the path of meditation by the hand of the one who introduced me to it. A gift to connect with the innermost part of us: God himself, and with others. Eternal gratitude to WCCM! ❤

Thank you I'm starting again this meditation practise

I would like to share my experience.
The essence of the meditation is the presence of God. It is true that the mind set should be empty, still; but I do not worry much about it.
In Eastern religions we talk about a blank piece of paper, an empty cup of tea. No way God can get into us if we are like a piece of paper full of written words or a cup full of water.
The Emmaus story is inspirational. They are in the wrong direction: Emmaus instead of Jerusalem. But Jesus is there with them, and that is the point.
40 years ago when I started meditating, I got distracted easily; but I was at peace as I prayed to Jesus: "Be with me when I get distracted" and it works.
As caring Father, God already knows what we need, so the focus should be on His will.
I rather talk about a meditative state, always ready to recognise His voice 24x7 like the lives of our Holy Mother and her spouse, st. Joseph.
Sometimes I go for a walk in the nature and I ask Jesus to go with me. I feel blissful as once Jesus is with me, all His beloved community is there with me as well.
During the meditation, I do not always hear His voice; but it doesn't matter. He can be silent; but I am sure He is at work.

Huge resource for those serious about seeking healing

@steverollins6790

I try to do this meditation every morning as I know I'll have a better day. But I stopped using Maranatha for my mantra many years ago, finding it distracting and uneuphonious. I use YAH-WEH, the name of God, with no consonants, and focus gently on breath in-breath out while saying it. then my body and mind are in tune. Got to be careful not to over-breathe though! God bless everyone.
