@sachaAlex

"Not bad" "performs extremely adequately"
As a German, these are the most powerfull compliments! Guys, we did it!

@ulipeterson6112

ALDI should market this machine now with a badge from James:
"Surprisingly good."šŸ˜„

@jorgeguevara2443

I got this machine for Christmas 2 or 3 years ago and ive been using it almost daily it been working great, the company went under a diffrent name but the machines are the same, it's been working well and has helped with learning how to take care of a machine without the fear of messing up a multi hundred dollar espresso machine, it's definitely great for younger beginners or just anyone without a big budget like me

@efi777

I much appreciate the fact that James is The Coffee Expert but heā€™s not a coffee snob and he consistently demonstrates it through videos like this. Bravo! Well reasoned and well argumented

@ciaranbrady3450

Ive watched a 20 min video on a coffee machine I most likely won't buy.........and I enjoyed it

@l4ndst4nder

ā€œIā€™m happy. Iā€™m surprised. I have a lot of feelings.ā€

Perfectly captures why James Hoffman is a treasure

@GoobieWoobie69

Canā€™t wait to buy this combo only $1560 šŸ¤©. All seriousness this looks pretty decent especially for that price!

@fida6358

As someone who works at Aldi, who hates how overworked we are sometimes, but it still brings a smile to my face knowing we sell good quality stuff for the price.

@smiddybalean

Im german and bought my first flatscreen from medion at aldi when they were new and still very expensive. That badboy lasted for 3 years and in the end got gifted to a guy that was still running a box monitor. ALDI is a godsend. When I fell on hard times they allowed me to fill up a grocery cart and pay ~50 euros less than when I went to other german "upscale" markets like Edeka or Famila. Im an ALDI ultra

@lanta-darren

Hello from Thailand. There is a massive supply of these machines being made in China right now. They are all over Lazada (the SE Asia equivalent of Amazon) - I think I paid around Ā£35 equivalent for mine - its the buttons are slightly different but is essentially the same machine, eg dimensions, water tank, puck, steamer etc etc.

@TheBrokenEclipse

The water you used is probably more expensive than the espresso machine.

I love it.

@HokeyBugle

Hearing you talk about the density/ratio of the pucks and the effect that has on the coffee was hilarious because you described it exactly the same way (terminology and all) as we do at my work where we design asphalt for roads.
Lab testing of asphalt designs is done in pucks that are then analyzed for all the properties you described!

@kongmw

100% understand the philosophy behind using a $1500 grinder to test a $60 espresso machine, but would also loved if you did try it with a $250 grinder just to see whether you still thought the espresso was decent enough

@Levine93

Excellent machine! My parents were looking at buying a coffee machine and saw this in Aldi and brought it. Two days after they got it the heating element in my long and trustworthy DeLonghi Scultera packed up and I couldnā€™t find a new one as Delonghi had discontinued that model. Tried it when I came back over Christmas and was very impressed. The option to put ice in the water tank to make iced espressos for iced coffee is a nice feature that I will explore using when the weather gets hotter. Pulls through espresso very well. Apparently thereā€™s option on that control to pull through a single shot or a double shot of espresso which I havenā€™t quite gotten my head around yet. Supposedly if you hold the espresso button for 3 seconds it changes as per the manual, probably the only flaw in this machine I find it too finicky and have yet to get it to work. I will try steaming the milk with the auto steamer off, you do seem to get better results and a seem to get better results using the non-dairy milk for some reason. Overall very impressed with it. I need to invest into some other accessories for my coffee making however.

@DiLLZGFX

The richest man is not the person who has the most but the person who needs the least. Honestly, I'm all for these cheap and delightful products. In this economy, with a cost of living crisis, the fact that Aldi has engineered this is absolutely insane and helps to make life a little bit more easier. I really like this reviews! Most reviewer these days only review the most expensive stuff which most ordinary people can't afford. Thanks for giving this product a highlight - I think it really encourages people to be satisfied with fewer, cheaper things.

@Conservator.

10:14 Itā€™s a Lidl sharp at the end, just a Lidl.

@kwilj

the scooptamp is indeed terrrrrible. i switched to a tampscoop and it's made all the difference!

@Videos1701D

I know this machine. It is a shell that many companies use (change buttons, layout). I had the brand called MAttinata. It worked great, but the pump burnt out after 4 months. Lowes has this same format $70 machine listed for $250 on the website. Same one as on Temu for $70.

MAttinata did refund the full price since it was under a 6 month warranty. I was happily surprised.

@flurgerbla7609

I do really love that you bring up possible issues with longevity and the necessities of making such a cheap appliance, especially good having those kinds of insights given the coffee industry's history with exploitation.

@TheCho-k4m

A 7/10 from him is basically a 10/10 for an average coffee enthusiast. The milk frother in particular did a great job.
