Insulin Resistance: 45% of Adults May Be Affected! #shorts
Insulin resistance is a condition that affects your body’s ability to use insulin effectively and may be linked to several other health issues. Some dietary and lifestyle habits can help prevent insulin resistance.
The prevalence of insulin resistance is 15.5–46.5% among adults worldwide
Insulin is an important hormone that regulates several processes in your body.
Problems with this hormone are at the heart of many health conditions.
Insulin resistance, a condition in which your cells stop responding properly to insulin, is incredibly common.
However, changing your diet and lifestyle habits can dramatically improve or help prevent this condition.
The main causes of elevated free fatty acids are consumption of too many calories and the presence of excess body fat. In fact, overeating, weight gain, and obesity are all strongly associated with insulin resistance.
Recipe here:
Chopped salad with avocado and homemade vinaigrette
This salad is flexible — use whatever chopped veggies you like. The key is combining crisp, colorful vegetables, with creamy avocado and topping with a tangy, flavorful dressing for maximum crunch and satisfaction in every bite.
Ingredients:
Salad:
½ English cucumber, sliced or chopped
½ red bell pepper, chopped
¼ red onion, chopped
1 ½ cups cherry tomatoes, halved
1 avocado, chopped
Dressing:
⅓ cup red wine vinegar
½ cup olive oil
Salt, to taste
Pepper, to taste
Dried oregano, optional pinch
Mix together dressing ingredients in a mason jar and shake to combine. Add vegetables to bowl and add dressing to coat. (You may have leftover dressing depending on how dressed you prefer your salad. Start slowly and add more as desired).
