Solo Roof Top Tent Removal from Rivian R1S – Air Suspension & Quick Release Crossbars
In this video, I demonstrate how to remove a roof top tent from my Rivian R1S solo, using the vehicle’s air suspension and quick-release cargo crossbars. The 4x4 Colorado Nimbus tent, along with bedding, an OVS 180 Awning, a water tank, and a wind deflector, weighs over 200 lbs. Despite the heavy load, the Rivian R1S makes the removal process much easier, and I show you the simplest way to do it yourself.
This tent setup is perfect for overlanding and camping, but being able to remove it efficiently when needed is key to making the process less daunting. Whether you’re looking to camp or just need a break from the roof top tent, this method is the easiest way I’ve found to get it off the vehicle.
