Dr. Hedman advises IMGs to:
🔹Identify your perceivable weaknesses but do not be limited by them - take note of what the gap between where you are and where you want to be constitutes.

🔹Build your resume with relevant clinical experience and make yourself known in your field of interest.

🔹 When engaging in elective clinical rotations, do not just do your job, but do it eagerly and passionately. This will show those in charge how dedicated you are, which may result in excellent letters of recommendation, or even opportunities to complete residency at those institutions.

🔹In every step of the way, think ahead and do things as far in advance as possible.
