Manchester United have decided to pursue a new 100,000-seater stadium, which will become the largest in the UK.

The club have announced their intention to build “the world’s greatest stadium” and believe it will bring in around £7.3billion to the UK economy each year.

The new stadium will be the centrepiece of a regeneration of the Old Trafford area and will support the government’s growth agenda – creating around 92,000 new jobs and 17,000 new homes.

Models of the new stadium and surrounding area will be unveiled today by Foster + Partners, the architecture group appointed to design the stadium district, in London.
