Southern California is bracing for another round of catastrophic fire weather, with deadly winds and fresh flames raging around the region. On Tuesday, while numerous wildfires blazed for the third week in a row, officials took precautions to prepare for possible rain this weekend, which might result in hazardous ash flow. The National Weather Service issued a warning for "particularly dangerous conditions" in Los Angeles, Ventura, and San Diego counties. Strong Santa Ana winds have returned, with gusts anticipated to reach 70 mph (113 kph) near the coast and 100 mph (160 kph) in the mountains.
