Phoenix recently ended its 159-day dry streak with a mere 0.01″ of rain, narrowly missing the record of 160 days set in 1971-72. ASU climatologist Randy Cerveny joined Arizona Horizon to discuss the ongoing drought and what to expect in the coming months.
Cerveny explained that weather patterns influenced by La Niña have diverted rainfall north, leading to drier conditions in the Valley. He warned that the region might not see rain until monsoon season, raising concerns about an intense fire season ahead.
