Friday Night Funkin' News this past week! In this series we go over spicy topics / mods in the FNF community. This week includes the Flippy Flipped mod, Hex remaster / repainted mod, Starecrown Full Week, Fireboy & Watergirl, Void, and Axel!

1. The Flippy Flipped Out mod! Wow, this mod looks beautiful. This mod is different from the Flippy mod that came out a few weeks ago. They were both in development at the same time, however this one just released later. Flippy (originally from Happy Tree Friends), looks MENACING in this one! There is a sneak peak to the second song in this video, as well as how to get the secret song in this mod (it's absolutely hilarious). Again, the animations, backgrounds, and sounds are super high quality. Can't wait to see more.

2. Hex Remastered and Repainted! It's been awhile since we've seen Hex, however now he's back! All of the visuals are redone including animations, cutscenes, etc. The songs are the same, but everything is just more... dripped?! 😳 The red eye remains in this mod which also appears in other FNF mods like Whitty, Tricky, Starecrown, and more. The end of Tricky's mod highlighted this in particular, as we see a mysterious figure peering behind a TV. Supposedly, this refers to Updike and his organization of The Greater Good (which contains threats to society). However, Whitty has now been removed and canceled which leaves us in the dark as to where this theory may lie ahead. It's possible other developers related to the eye will continue this arc, so fingers crossed.

3. Starecrown, the FULL WEEK! Starecrown just released with the third, final phase alongside Fred the Frog. This is an absolutely insane looking mod. It includes Tricky's Madness over Starecrown's vocals in Freeplay which is pretty awesome. It even has RICK ROLL sung by Starecrown as the pause menu theme... like WHAT! The final song truly feels like a final boss battle and it really makes your heart race (in a cool way, as Ron from Vs. Bob would say).

4. Vs. Void mod! This mod is absolutely insane. I'm really surprised it hasn't gotten more attention! It's made like a traditional FNF mod week, but the sheer quality is just amazing. All the animations look super smooth and the music... THE MUSIC. This guy has to have one of the coolest sounding vocals out of any FNF mod. In the background, you can see other popular FNF characters like Tricky, Garcello, Hex, Sarv and Ruv from Mid-Fight Masses, Pico, Zardy, Kapi, Pom Pom and more. The difficulty feels just right, and there is a sneak peak at the end of the mod. Overall, it's just a really high polished, exhilarating fun time.

5. Fireboy & Watergirl! This mod is based off the popular flash game of Fireboy & Watergirl. It's a neat mod that has one song based off the Temple theme from the actual game, with two unique songs as well. Both Fireboy & Wategirl are really expressive and the songs are catchy. I hope we get other mods based of historic flash games like Bloons Tower Defense, Henry Stickmin, or maybe even Happy Wheels, who knows!

6. Vs. Axel! Alright so this mod appeared on the Friday Night Funkin' Reddit, and is a work in progress. What stands out to me is the animation and how the arrows just shift so smoothly as the song progresses. The developer is really hopeful for this mod and they literally did everything singlehandedly from the music, to animation, programming, etc. Definitely a talented individual. At one point you just transcend into the sky and it's just... bonkers. Amazing job Axel

All of these mods are available on Gamebanana right now (except for Axel and temporarily Starecrown). I'm blown away by the new mods coming out within Friday Night Funkin' each week. I love being apart of this awesome community, and hope to provide a source of news for FNF. I aim to highlight the biggest topics of recent releases in an ever-growing fanbase, while shining some light on some of the more underrated gems!
