Scarves are dangerous, knit a cowl! Knitting Tutorial for beginners!
This is my first tutorial video, and I am excited! I made it pretty simple, its just a rib knit cowl. All you have to know to make this is how to cast on, knit, purl, bind off, and sew a simple seam!
Time Stamps:
00:00-00:21 Infomercial
00:21-3:15 Rambly chatter
03:15-04:26 Supplies, writing pattern
04:26-07:26 Knitting
07:26-14:50 Blocking, sewing seam, weaving ends
14:50-end Final Thoughts
Here is the pattern I created, but you can create your own pattern easily with whatever yarn to you choose!
Yarn: Rowan Felted Tweed (double knit)
Knitting Needle size 5 straights
I used one ball of this yarn, which is 50 g.
The pattern:
Cast On 48 sts.
Row 1: Slip 1, k3, *(p4, k4) rep from * across.
Repeat this row for desired length.
**Note, if you start with a different cast on, and a different pattern repeat, your pattern will be slightly different from mine. You just want the piece to end up ribbed. Basically, when you turn the piece over you knit the purls and purl the knits.
Once you have your desired length of fabric, bind off your stitches and block your piece. After its blocked, sew up your seam and your piece is complete!
