Dryland farming is changing #amarillo #regenerativeagriculture #farmers
Recently, Peter travelled to Amarillo, Texas to be a guest speaker at the No-Till Texas Soil Health Symposium.
Our team had the incredible opportunity to connect with visionary farmers from across the state, many of whom are embracing the transformative journey of regenerative grazing.
In just one remarkable year, Jess, working with a ewe farmer, witnessed a staggering 56% increase in grazing time after transitioning to regenerative grazing. Despite enduring scorching temperatures exceeding 100 degrees for 42 consecutive days, the strategic shade provided by resting paddocks lush with grass significantly cooled microbial habitats and conserved precious water resources.
Not only does this practice extend grazing periods, saving on costly supplemental feed, but it also fosters a thriving natural ecosystem and enhances carbon sequestration on his land.
However, amidst these tales of resilience and regeneration, we cannot ignore the devastating impact of wildfires taking over Texas and affecting thousands of lives. Ranchers, in particular, are in need of hay, veterinary care, and fencing supplies.
