Takhteshwar Mahadev Temple is a temple of Mahadev located on the top of a hill in the heart of Bhavnagar city of Gujarat and was built by the Maharaja of Bhavnagar.

The Takhteshwar Mahadev Temple in Bhavnagar city is a symbol of faith of the devotees. Twelve months, millions of devotees come here for darshan. And especially during Shravan Mass, a large number of devotees come here for worship and darshan of Mahadev.

A unique feature of Takhteshwar Temple is that it is situated on a high hill in the center of the city and from there the view of the entire Bhavnagar city can be seen.

It was built by Maharaja Takht Singhji of Bhavnagar and was opened to the public in January 1893 by paying homage to Devadhidev Mahadev.
The temple was named Takhteshwar Mahadev as it was built by Maharaja Takht Singhji of Bhavnagar.

This temple has a gold plate around the Shivling. The temple is built entirely on high plinths using white marble stones. This magnificent temple has been built by Shramdan with the help of 1000 artisans for eight consecutive years and the carving work done in marble stones here has become a center of great attraction for the devotees.

From this temple on one side you can see the sea god and on the other side you can see the whole city. Takhteshwar Mahadev Temple is the best place to see such a spectacular view of Bhavnagar city. Here a unique confluence of devotees with nature is seen. And you will be happy to know that this wonderful Takhteshwar Mahadev Temple is also included in the heritage property of Bhavnagar city.

There is a paved road around the bottom of the temple where people come for morning and evening walks and for peace of mind.
