Rising cancer rates among women

22 2________

Rick J. Bold, M.D., the Site Director at Mayo Clinic Comprehensive Cancer Center in Arizona, joined Arizona Horizon to discuss the rising rates of cancer among younger adults and women, particularly those aged 50 to 64. While survival rates are improving, certain groups, such as Black and Native Americans, are experiencing significantly higher cancer mortality rates. Dr. Bold highlighted the importance of early detection through screenings like colonoscopies and mammograms, as well as the ongoing advancements at Mayo Clinic in developing blood tests that could detect multiple cancers at once. He also emphasized the need for broader healthcare access to effectively combat cancer in underserved communities.
