Grand Closing Ceremony of Cyberabad Police 7th Annual Sports, Games & Duty Meet - 2025
The Cyberabad Police 7th Annual Sports, Games & Duty Meet - 2025 concluded in a grand and vibrant ceremony today, 24th January 2025, at the Cyberabad Parade Grounds, Gachibowli.
The Chief Guest, Telangana State DGP Dr. Jitender, IPS, graced the event, which was marked by enthusiastic participation from police personnel across all zones and wings.
Prior to the closing ceremony, a series of significant inaugurations were held. Crèche at the Cyberabad CP Office premises was inaugurated by the DGP Dr. Jitender, IPS. This was followed by the inauguration of the Badminton, Tennis, table tennis and the Volleyball Courts. These facilities are part of the Cyberabad Police Commissionerate’s ongoing efforts to support the physical well-being and recreation of its personnel.
The 100-meter race for men was officially started by the DGP, while the 100-meter race for women was inaugurated by the Joint Commissioner of Police D. Joel Davis, IPS. The 4x100 meter relay run was flagged off by the Cyberabad Police Commissioner, adding more excitement to the event.
In the 100 meters men’s race, the first place was secured by Ramesh (CAR Headquarters), followed by Venkatesh (CAR Headquarters) in second place, and Srikanth (Rajendranagar Zone) in third place. In the 100 meters women’s race, the first place went to Yamuna, PC (CAR Headquarters), with Deepa Sri, WPC (CAR Headquarters) taking second place, and Puja, WPC (Rajendranagar Zone) finishing in third place. In the 4x100 meters relay race, the CAR Headquarters team emerged as the winners, while the Traffic Wing secured second place.
The DGP received the general salute from Salami Shastra, presented by Parade Commander Nagaraju Reddy.
Addressing the gathering, DGP Dr. Jitender, IPS, highlighted that investments are crucial for the development of any state, and law and order play a vital role in attracting these investments. He praised Cyberabad Police for consistently maintaining a professional and efficient approach to law and order, which contributes to the state’s growth. The Society for Cyberabad Security Council (SCSC) plays an exceptional role in collaborating with both the police and IT & ITES companies, ensuring a safe and secure environment for businesses to thrive.
Despite their demanding responsibilities in maintaining law and order, the participation of police personnel in sports brings a renewed sense of enthusiasm. Sports not only alleviate the pressures of their duties but also enhance physical resilience, mental toughness, and endurance. Additionally, sports foster leadership qualities, strengthen team spirit, and promote unity.
The DGP commended the Cyberabad Police Commissionerate for its initiative to promote physical fitness and overall well-being among its personnel. He emphasized the critical role of sports and physical activity in developing teamwork, discipline, and mental resilience—essential traits for police personnel to perform their duties effectively. In today’s sports meet, Cyberabad Police performed exceptionally well and won numerous awards. The DGP expressed confidence that the police force will maintain their sports spirit and continue to achieve success at the upcoming State Duty Meet in Karimnagar.
Cyberabad Police Commissioner, Avinash Mohanty, IPS, congratulated all participants for their dedication and active involvement in the sports meet. He emphasized the importance of physical fitness in enhancing professional efficiency and encouraged all personnel to incorporate regular physical activity into their daily routines. Over the past four days, 953 police personnel, including over 150 women, participated in various events such as running, kabaddi, cricket, volleyball, football, basketball, long jump, shot put, carrom, and chess, representing different law enforcement zones, traffic, crime wings, and ministerial staff.
The Commissioner also stressed the need for police officers to adopt a healthy lifestyle by regularly conducting health check-ups and engaging in daily exercise. He recommended dedicating time each day for physical activities like yoga and spending quality time with family to maintain a healthy work-life balance.
