Will It Go Touring? | KTM 390 Duke FAQ #6
The KTM 390 Duke, especially these post-2017 models, made excellent tourers!
One. Because they have top speeds north of 150-160kmph, they are quite happy to cruise at, say 100kmph. The revs might seem high on the tacho, but the feel is collected, composed and easy. Which makes it a low-energy, high-speed cruise that makes covering the miles easy.
Two. If you don't feel the need to blast past everything and overtake things more gently... back off the acceleration to be specific... the KTM can return very decent fuel economy which combines with a decent seat and a 13.5 litre tank to offer great range for long days.
Three. Because the 390 has been around for a long time, the luggage options, seat options as well as ECU and sprocket options are available easily. Watch your warranty but you can turn the 390 into a more effective city- or touring motorcycle!
